THKlein--that $435 seems really weird for AA out of DFW.  The AA flight that stops in DFW from SFO is $386 round trip.

I can't get on either so I called them and they said the system's slow--I said it's not working and he said to try again in a little bit.  Maybe we crashed it?   rolleyes

The reason its higher is because it is nomstop....u get a 'discount' for having the stop in dfw. We paid 400.00 twice out of dfw....and lots less when we fly from oklahoma or kansas thru dfw or houston. So dumb.

That's not really correct, airfares don't follow that path as a rule.  There are plenty of flights that would make one stop each way yet still cost more than a non stop flight from DFW.  I book OKC to CUN for one specific client 5 times per year and he pays over $400 for air more often than not.

Less competition out of DFW for non stop to Cancun, especially since Worryfree backed out.  You have Sun Country and American.  Less competition often keeps prices inflated.

Yes, I am thinking the lack of competion in DFW is keeping prices high!  American hasnt budged but maybe $10-15 since November!  They have been keeping a very steady price.

Sooner:  Our dates our Aug7-Aug13.  Yes, we will be flying on Friday the 13th!!  lol!

Well, I hated to do it but I ended up buying tickets out of Springfield for 548.00  UGH!  That just makes me sick!  If I wake up in the morning and the price has gone down I will be so mad.  Maybe I just won't look. We will leave at 7:55 layover in Dallas, land in Cancun at 1:35.  I could have taken the 6:45 and landed at 11:00 something.  This way we can sleep another hour and not be draggin'  We are only 15 minutes from the airport so that little trip isn't so bad.

Have a great evening.

Cocomo -  You still ended up getting a great deal between Barcelo and air!  I bet you are glad you are done with arrangements.  I still need to buy trip insurance for room portion.  Skymiles are covered thru Delta.  I just got my confirmation for transfer I booked with barcelo deal.  Operations Manager emailed me.  He was so kind and upbeat.   Anyone else going March 18-25 Tropical with our teenage boys and then August 3-12 Colonial for birthday and Anniversary?  Just me and DH.
We are ready for the party! blob9 occasion14 eusa_clap
