We just returned from a stay at the Barcelo Maya Palace July 12-19, 2008. Our stay was incredible! No real complaints. The fridge does cool better when you pull it out from the wall. Be sure that the patio door, as well as the front door to your room are always closed, or else the air will cut off. There are sensors on both doors and the air is off if they are open. Also, be sure to make restaurant reservations for every day on the day you arrive, as they fill quickly! I highly recommend the Brasserie (French) restaurant at the Palace. Everything tends to be a little overcooked, so I would order the beef more rare that you usually would order it. Staff was wonderful, very respectful and eager to please. We can't wait for a return visit!
