Pools

There are four large pools at the resort. They run parallel to the beach.

They are surrounded by gardens, some activities like ping ping pong and giant chess and the kids clubs.  There are children's sections and whirlpools. There are fountains, spouts and built in seats.

The pools are not heated. The water is 4'2" at its deepest.

Loungers

Surrounding the pool, the deck has covered areas for shade and open areas for sunbathing. There are hundreds of pool loungers and hammocks. Do not reserve loungers ahead of time (aka playing the "towel game"). It's annoying and inconsiderate.

Poolbars

At one end of each pool is a pool bar, and adjoining pool/beach side grill. There are built in seats and they make a great place to meet and chat with other guests.

Floaties

You can also bring your floaties from home or buy them onsite. The staff at the activities area will inflate them for you if they're too big for you to blow up.

Washrooms

Closest washrooms are at the beach grills.

Towels

You get a towel card when you check in. Use this card to get a towel for the pool/beach area.

There is a towel exchange palapa beside the Beach pool and beside the Tropical pool. Exchange your towels as many times as you want. Don't bring the towels from your room to use at the pools, the pool ones are huge and fluffy.

You must return the card or towel to the front desk when you check out. Be careful not to loose the card or you'll have to pay US$20.

Scuba lesson

There is a free scuba diving lesson in the pool every day, twice a day.

Hours

The pools are open from 8am to 10pm, do not go in after 10pm as they put major chemicals to keep the pool clean. We were very impressed, they check the pool levels throughout the day and every night spend hours vacuuming them.

Night time

The pools look absolutely gorgeous at night. They are perfectly still and underlit. If you want to take photographs of the pool (or any scenery with lighting) at night, I recommend you rest your camera on a stable platform (or a tripod if you have one) and take the picture. Otherwise the pictures will be blurred.
