Distintivo H

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort has obtained the "Distintivo H" award from the Mexican Tourism Board. This award has become Mexico's official voluntary norm of all food handling industries. This norm demands the highest standards of hygiene in all sectors of the Food and Beverage industry including hotels, restaurants, etc. This guarantees a hygienic environment for all guests as it controls the full cycle in all food and beverage processes i.e. from supplier to consumption. This recognition is awarded by the Secretaries of Tourism and Health and the Distintivo H certifying company Normex.

Water

All water used at the resort is purified. This includes water used for washing vegetables and fruit, for cooking and drinking. There is bottled water everywhere, at the bars, restaurants, mini bars. The water from all faucets is purified. Drinking the water will not make you sick.

Be careful drinking water off the resort, stick to bottled water. You can take bottled water from the resort for trips and excursions.
