There are countless activities around the resort that you can take part in. The majority of them are included in your vacation at no extra charge. There is an activities schedule in each lobby, in various other places around the resort and in your room. The staff get you involved as much as you want to be and make sure you have a good time. Check the schedule to see if anything is of interest and try it out.
Mini golf
Mini golf is located near the Caribe lobby. It is available from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. You receive a golf club and a ball. If you loose the ball, there is a US$2 charge so be careful. The course is elaborate with a bridge and cenote. It is surrounded by lots of vegetation. Wear mosquito repellent as this is a known spot for mosquitoes.
Tennis
There are 8 tennis courts. Five are located near the Caribe lobby and three beside the Colonial lobby. Tennis is available from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and you have to make reservations at the mini-golf counter. Racquets are available to borrow so you don't have to bring yours from home. You need to wear tennis shoes and proper clothing.
Pitch & Putt
A small Pitch & putt is located behind the Caribe tennis courts. It is available from 7:00 a.m. to sunset. Request your equipment at the mini golf counter. Note this is not a course for serious golfers but fun for hitting the ball around.
Water sports
The water sports palapa is located at the south end of the beach. Here you can take out water tricycles, kayaks, boogie boards. You can also learn to wind surf and catamaran.
Instructor led
The Barcelo activities staff lead a variety of different activities around the pools and on the beach. Just listen for their voice over a microphone and walk in that direction. They lead aquaerobics, dance lessons, spanish lessons, stretching, darts, bingo and archery.
Activities areas
There is an activities area beside the Tropical pool bar and one beside the Beach pool. Here you'll find giant chess, table tennis, basketball, badminton, bocce ball, shuffleboard and bowling.
In the pools and on the beach
You can play water basketball, water polo in the pools. There are designated areas with nets set up. You can play volleyball on the beach and in the pools.
Barcy club
Located beside the Colonial pool at the Barcy club are a few table top games. You can play pool, air hockey and foosball.
You can also borrow balls and board games from the Tropical pool towel area.
Extra charge activities
ATV tours, horseback riding, parasailing, jet skiing and banana boat rides are all available off the beach for an extra charge. You can paint ceramics and get a temporary tattoo as well.
