Beach

What an incredible beach! It goes on as far as you can see. There is tons of room, hundreds of loungers and you never have to worry about getting a spot, shade or sun, any time of the day. The sand is also incredible, so fine and so cool. Don't worry about the sand burning your feet, it's almost refreshing. You can walk out at least 100 feet (maybe more) before the water is chest high. And the beach is kept very clean, raked every single morning.

Layout

The beach is varied, with something for everyone.

  • In front of Beach and Caribe Beach, it is relatively rock free, shallow entry and you can walk out for at least 100ft and still not be too deep.
  • Between Beach and Caribe Beach and Colonial and Tropical Beach, you'll find the pier. This an excellent entry point for snorkeling right onsite. You'll see a variety of fish, coral and maybe even a turtle.
  • The beach in front of Colonial and Tropical Beach is a little rocky in a few places but keep an eye out and you should have no problems finding a nice sandy entry point.
  • The beach beyond Colonial and Tropical Beach has a bit more rock, but the snorkelling here is incredible. A few sea turtles spend their time in this area and it is a treat to spot one of them.

Beach shoes aka aquasocks are helpful if you want to walk around the rocks to look for critters. You'll sometimes see pelicans hunting for fish. Sometimes, you'll see hundreds of angelfish about the size of your palm swimming close to shore.

Ammenities

There are a variety of amenities along the beach. At the far south is the water sports palapa. Here you can take out water trikes, sunfish, boogie board and catamarans. In the middle is the pier, dive shop, shops and Marina bar/grill. The dive shop loans out snorkeling equipment and books scuba/snorkeling trips.

Beach grills

The beach/pool grills line the beach on the other side of the boardwalk.

Indicator Flags

The flag is located at one of the entrances from the paved walkways to the beach. Green flag means it's ok to swim, yellow means be careful, a bit wavy, red means it's dangerous to swim and black means swimming is forbidden.

Washrooms and showers

The closest washrooms are at the pool grills at either end of the beach. There are also washrooms by the Marina Bar and the water sports palapa.

There are 3 or 4 sets of open beach showers for washing off the salt water just where the paved walkways meet the beach sand. There are two taps. One controls the top shower when you need to rinse off your entire body. The other controls the foot shower when you only need to rinse sand off your feet.

Lifeguards

There are lifeguards on duty, either on the lifeguard chairs or roaming the beach.

Nighttime

You can walk the beach at night, there is a bit of ambient light. It's very quiet and romantic, with only the sound of the waves.

Security regularly patrol the beach at night. Never swim at night.

It is also important to note that the beach and pier are federal zones and the hotel is not going to be responsible for any accidents or loss of articles.
