Layout
The map above gives you a good orientation as to where to find key points and general layout of the resort. In general terms, the Caribbean sea is to the east then the beach. Parallel to the beach are the pools and beach grills. Beyond that are the buildings with the rooms, perpendicular to the beach.
In general, rooms don't have ocean view. The palm trees are too big and the rooms set back too far. This is actually a good thing for two reasons, 1, good protection from hurricanes, and 2, you can see the ocean from the pools.
Further inland are the theatres, lobbies, restaurants, etc.
General layout of the rooms:
Beach section

Colonial section

Tropical section

- The second number in each room number indicates the floor the room is on, with the exception of the Guanajuato and Veracruz buildings. (For these two builidings, think of X401 as first floor, X501 as second floor, X601 third floor.)
- On the Tropical/Colonial sections, rooms 1 -10 are suites with partial pool/ocean views.
- On the Tropical/Colonial sections, the rooms closest to the pools/beach are all Jr. and master suites.
- On the Caribe/Beach sections, the rooms closest to the pools/beach are a mix of suites and standard rooms.
- On the Caribe/Beach sections, all 3 floors the junior suites are always rooms 2 & 11 (i.e. 5102, 5111, 5202, 5211, 5302 & 5311). All the others from 1-12 are standard rooms.
